PICUM, the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants, is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that aims to promote respect for the human rights of undocumented migrants within Europe. PICUM also seeks dialogue with organisations and networks with similar concerns in other parts of the world.

PICUM promotes respect for the basic social rights of undocumented migrants, such as the right to health care, the right to shelter, the right to education and training, the right to minimum subsistence, the right to family life, the right to moral and physical integrity, the right to legal aid, and the right to fair labour conditions.

Conference report on a workshop organized by PICUM and the United Methodist Women Immigrant/Civil Rights Initiative, "The Exploitation of Undocumented Migrant Women in the Workplace"
BRUSSELS, March 2010

On March 1, PICUM, the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants and the United Methodist Women Immigrant/Civil Rights Initiative issued the report "The Exploitation of Undocumented Migrant Women in the Workplace," at the UN-Commission on the Status of Women in New York, as part of the "Beijing +15" review of the Beijing Platform for Action. This is the report of a global workshop organized by the two organizations during the Peoples' Global Action (PGA) on Migration, Development and Human Rights in Athens, Greece, 4th November 2009.

Projects

Fundamental Rights Situation of Irregular Migrants in the European Union (FRIM)
The aim of FRIM is to examine key aspects of the situation of irregular immigrants in the European Union in order to assess the extent to which their fundamental rights are respected and protected. The project will build on previous research, include a comparison of the 27 EU member states, as well as case studies on 10 EU member states.

Women's Strategy
In response to increased calls for support and information from organisations working with undocumented migrant women throughout Europe, PICUM developed a three-year gender strategy which was made possible with the support of the Sigrid Rausing Trust and Mama Cash.

NowHereLand
The project Health Care in NowHereLand – Improving Services for Undocumented Migrants in the EU has as its aim to improve knowledge regarding service provision for undocumented migrants by collecting existing practice in health policy and health services in the EU.

NEF-EPIM
This is a three-year project sponsored by the Network of European Foundations (NEF) and the European Programme for Integration and Migration (EPIM) which has as its goal to strengthen the fundamental rights of undocumented migrants in Europe.
